John F. Harris is Vice President of Legal Affairs for Ford of Europe, Middle East and Africa. He was appointed to this position in March 2014 and is responsible for all legal affairs in the region.
Prior to this assignment, Mr Harris was based at Ford’s Global Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan where he led the Distribution and Transaction Practice Group. In this position, he managed a team that provided legal advice on general sales, marketing, distribution and advertising involving all of the Ford Motor Company brands including Ford Customer Service Division as well as coordination for all corporate transactions and Purchasing matters. He also provided antitrust advice on acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures and competition collaborations, and held responsibility for Canada, Mexico and South America. Throughout his twenty-five year career with Ford, Mr Harris has served in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility including as legal counsel to the Premiere Automotive Group in Irvine, California.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mr Harris received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Fisk University and a law degree from Case Western Reserve University, both in the US.
