Ford Fiesta

Product Overview

The all-new Ford Fiesta is now available in different versions to suit almost any lifestyle.

The most comprehensive and versatile line-up of Fiestas since the iconic small car first went on sale more than 40 years ago, includes the stylish Fiesta Titanium, the Ford Performance-inspired Fiesta ST-Line and the upscale Fiesta Vignale.

And the charismatic all-new Fiesta models are supported by an unprecedented range of life-enhancing features and technologies, including systems that can park hands-free, detect pedestrians in the road ahead, an openable panoramic glass roof, and a premium sound system from B&O PLAY.

“It's because we share our customers’ passion for Fiesta that we’ve been able to take this iconic small car’s lovable, fun and sporty-to-drive character to the next level, with a greater choice of models than ever and each with a distinctive personality,” said Steven Armstrong, group vice president and president, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Ford Motor Company. "We now have a Fiesta option for every driver, with advanced technologies and features that small-car customers could only have dreamed of just a few years ago."

Distinctive personalities

Each all-new Fiesta variant – including the SUV-inspired Fiesta Active and Ford Performance-developed Fiesta ST models that go on sale next year – offers a unique and distinctive face and personality, giving the high-quality small car more character than ever before.

The Fiesta Vignale’s bespoke satin Vignale grille pattern, grille surround, foglamp surrounds, side spear and rear diffuser deco element add a luxurious appeal. Fiesta Titanium features a chrome bar execution for simplistic but upscale style. Fiesta ST-Line’s simple mesh, Ford Performance-inspired grille is designed to be representative of the performance that sits behind.

The all-new Fiesta also lets owners put their own mark on their car, with colourful personalisation options. Customers can choose contrast colours including Bohai Bay Mint or Chrome Copper for the roof and door mirrors, and including Race Red or Blue Wave for decorative elements inside the car such as the dashboard and door interiors.

Up to 20,000 variations of all-new Fiesta specification are available – almost twice as many as the outgoing model.

Sophisticated interior

Using high-quality materials, seamless surfaces and an intuitive new layout, Ford has developed an all-new Fiesta interior that delivers a calming and peaceful space.

The upper instrument panel is soft to the touch, and the car industry’s highest quality coatings are used for the surfaces of decorative elements – even complex three-dimensional ones – adding to the premium feel.

The user-centric Fiesta interior design is influenced by the way consumers use their smart devices and tablets, and at the centre of the dashboard is a floating, tablet-inspired screen.

The 8‑inch colour touchscreen can be operated with pinch and swipe gestures. Other screen options include a floating 6.5-inch colour touchscreen, and a 4.2-inch colour screen combined with the MyFord Dock that enables users to store, mount and charge mobile devices such as phones and navigation systems.

The number of buttons on the centre console is reduced by almost half compared to the outgoing Fiesta, making the car’s functions easier to manage. There are fewer buttons on the steering wheel, too, which also can be heated for the first time to warm hands on cold winter mornings. An available openable panoramic glass roof adds to the spacious, airy feel.

“People decide within three minutes if they love a product or not, and it is the same for your car,” said Amko Leenarts, Ford’s head of global interior design operations. “From the moment you get in, you form connections with the smell, the feel of the surfaces, or the sound of the car door closing and it’s very powerful if we – as designers – can help create the perfect experience for the customer.”

Clever technologies

The all-new Fiesta is the most technologically advanced small car on sale in Europe, offering 15 sophisticated technologies that help customers manage the demands of driving, parking, and provide additional safety and security.

Together, Fiesta’s sensors monitor 360 degrees around the vehicle and can see up to 130 metres ahead – more than the length of a football pitch.

The Fiesta can detect pedestrians who are in or near the road ahead, or who may cross the vehicle’s path, and can automatically apply the brakes to avoid them if the driver does not respond to warnings. The technology can even work at night, using the light from the Fiesta’s headlights.

And parking the Fiesta has never been easier. Ultrasonic sensors can locate suitable parking spaces nose-to-tail and side-by-side with other cars, and the Fiesta can guide itself into them hands-free while the driver operates the accelerator and brake.

Other technologies can monitor road signs to keep the driver up-to-date on speed limits and overtaking regulations; adjust cruising speed when using cruise control to maintain a set distance to traffic ahead; and warn of vehicles approaching from the side when reversing out of a parking space.

The all-new Fiesta also offers advanced communications and entertainment technology. Ford’s SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™, and enables drivers to control audio, navigation and connected smartphones using simple, conversational voice commands such as saying “I’m hungry” or “I need a coffee” to locate nearby cafés and restaurants, or  “I need petrol” for local fuel stations.

Music fans will be captivated by the high-quality audio of the first B&O PLAY sound system to feature in a Ford vehicle – delivering ten speakers including a boot-mounted subwoofer and a central mid-range speaker on top of the instrument panel, and 675 watts amplifier power.

Fun to drive, but very fuel-efficient

Since its introduction in 1976, the Ford Fiesta has stood for fun and fuel-efficient driving.

The Fiesta’s range of sophisticated engine and gearbox combinations includes the multi-award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol with power up to 140 PS from an engine block small enough to fit into the overhead locker of an aeroplane; and the Fiesta’s first ever high-power diesel engine – Ford’s 1.5-litre TDCi offering 120 PS.

Fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions from the new Fiesta range start at a combined 3.2 l/100 km and 82 g/km, with efficiency supported by technology that automatically stops the engine when stationary in traffic and restarts quickly when moving off again, and an Eco button for manual gearboxes that adjusts engine and throttle settings to help drivers save even more fuel when desired.

Fine-tuned for a fun to drive experience, the all-new Fiesta more has grip supported by technology that applies small amounts of braking to the inside wheels for tighter cornering, and has better stopping performance with braking distances at 100 km/h (62 mph) reduced by more than 8 per cent.

“A fun driving experience is central to the Fiesta’s appeal, and our all-new Fiesta remains true to the character that has delighted generations of drivers, with the sharpest, sportiest and most balanced performance yet,” said Joe Bakaj, vice president, Product Development, Ford of Europe. “Offering more style, more refinement, more technology, and more fun, Europe’s favourite small car is more Fiesta than ever.”

*The declared Fuel/Energy Consumptions, CO2 emissions and electric range are measured according to the technical requirements and specifications of the European Regulations (EC) 715/2007 and (EC) 692/2008 as last amended. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are specified for a vehicle variant and not for a single car. The applied standard test procedure enables comparison between different vehicle types and different manufacturers. In addition to the fuel efficiency of a car, driving behaviour as well as other non-technical factors play a role in determining a car's fuel/energy consumption, CO2 emissions and electric range. CO2 is the main greenhouse gas responsible for global warming.
